Harbour Craft Transponder System (HARTS)

Updates on Briefing attended on 22 Jul 05 at S'pore Poly

The following are some of the updates:

1. All MPA registered vessels are to be fixed with a transponder.

2. Installation may start in Oct 05.

3. Fully paid by Govt. and free 1st year operating fee.

4. Operating fee, about $10/- per month, payment together with renewal of boat

licence.

5. Portable & fixed transponder. Commercial vessels & pleasure crafts with

cabin - fixed type. Open deck & jet ski – portable.

6. Cut-off date for Govt funding of new boats up to 1 Jun 2006.

7. Transponder cost about $1000/- each.

8. With panic button built-in portable type and extendable button for fixed type.

9. Detectable within port limit.

10. Motorized boats only. Sail boats and canoes not required.

11. Install at berthing location for 5 or more boats otherwise send to pre-designated

installation locations.

12. Awarded to ST Electronics (Info-comm Systems) Pte Ltd.
